The champion of the Asian Final Competition of Disciples Escoffier Young Talent Trophy 2013 is born! After months of pre-selections from 8 different Asian Regions, plus 3 days of intense competition in during Restaurant and Bar 2013 (3rd Sept – 5th Sept), in which the eight young chefs have gave their best to fight vie for the culinary crown, and the competition has finally come to an end.
This year’s winner of the Asian Final Round of the Disciples Escoffier Young Talent Trophy (DEYTT) 2013 is

The winner of the Asian Final Round will now move on to represent Asia in the World Competition 2014 to be held in Lille, France.
On 3rd September, all the candidates were required to prepare the themed dish Poached Egg “Mignon”. Then in the second round of the competition on the following day, they were called on to create a dish with salmon. After four candidates had been eliminated following the second round, the remaining four with the highest combined scores from the previous two days, Chris Wong (Hong Kong), Zhao Yuan Cheng (Macau), Lee Won Yong (South Korea) and Ton Nu Hong Loan (Vietnam), proceeded to the final day to undertake the final challenge based on the theme “Beef and Pastry”.
