Everyday Bordeaux 2012 - Invitation to submit entries

On behalf of CIVB, Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (Bordeaux Wine Council), Sopexa once again invites wine importers to take part in the Everyday Bordeaux 2012 – the annual wine challenge to select 100 best buys Bordeaux in town.

Since 2007, the challenge has driven great attention to Bordeaux wines that are both excellent in quality and affordable for everyday drinking.

In 2011, we have prepared year-round activities to promote the winning wines:

  • The bilingual “Everyday Bordeaux” booklet with wine details, tips and contact information.
  • Announcements through press conference and advertisements.
  • Everyday Bordeaux pavilion in Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival for all winning wine importers to showcase and to sell.
  • Dedicate website Bordeaux.sopexa.com.hk and facebook fanpage http://www.facebook.com/EverydayBordeaux

There are four categories in this challenge:

  Vintage

Retail Price Range
(wine shops / supermarkets / direct sale)

  Red

  2007 2011

  HK$70 - 350

  Dry White

  2009 2011

  Rosé

  Sweet White

  2004 - 2011

  HK$70 - 450

Wines in each category will be blind tasted by a Panel of reputed wine connoisseurs in July 9-10. Results will be announced to importers in August.

To participate in this program, wine importers are required to submit Bordeaux wine list as per following conditions:

  • All wines must be AOCs from Bordeaux.
  • Respect the price & vintage range conditions (listed above).
  • Wines must be available in Hong Kong market from July 2012 onward.
  • Wines must be directly imported by the participating importer. If you are not the direct importer, please obtain consent from the respective importer.

Interested parties please contact David LI (+852 2909 6939) or Sammi YEUNG (+852 2866 7163) on or before 14 June 2012. Application procedures will be advised upon requested.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to promote the Bordeaux wines that you import and distribute in Hong Kong.
